Aliyyah Handford's 21 points lead St. John's past DePaul

Aliyyah Handford had 21 points and was one of five players to score in double figures as St. John's cruised past DePaul, 96-86, in a women's Big East game Saturday.

Danaejah Grant had 16 points, Briana Brown 14 points and Amber Thompson 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Eugeneia McPherson chipped in 11 points and eight assists for the Red Storm (10-5, 3-1).

New Hampshire 71, Stony Brook University 68: Sabre Proctor scored a career-high 25 points in an overtime loss for Stony Brook (10-5, 1-1 America East). Chikilra Goodman scored 13 points and matched a career best with 16 rebounds.

NYIT 79, Bridgeport 60: Rebecca Romeo led NYIT (7-5, 4-3 ECC) with 16 points. Bridgeport is 3-10, 1-6.

LIU Post 69, Dowling 63: Chelsea Williams had 17 points for Post (8-4, 5-1 ECC). Julia Koppl had 18 for Dowling (4-8, 3-4).

Sage 63, St. Joseph's 43: Christina Cohen had 19 points in the loss for St. Joseph's (0-10, 0-1) in Skyline.

 

MEN'S BASKETBALL

NYIT 94, Bridgeport 82: Markus Moore had 25 points for NYIT (5-7, 3-3) in ECC. Bridgeport is 6-7, 4-3.

Dowling 65, LIU Post 61: Darien Davis had 13 points and Evan Maxwell 12 points for Dowling (13-2, 7-0 ECC). P.J. Torres had 21 points for Post (9-5, 4-2).

St. Joseph's 77, NYU Polytechnic 56: Sophomore guard Ryan Reidy scored a career-high 21 points for St. Joseph's (3-9, 2-3) in Skyline. NYU Poly is 2-10, 0-6.

Nassau CC 82, Manhattan CC 56: Jaleel Charles had 17 points and 14 rebounds and Reggie Dennis 15 points for Nassau (9-4) in Region XV.

Suffolk CC 66, Dutchess CC 35: Chris Millander had 23 points and 13 rebounds for Suffolk (9-1) in Region XV.
