It didn't take long for Bruce Pearl to find another line of work.
The former Tennessee men's basketball coach has joined the Sirius/XM College Sports Nation roster, channel 91, SiriusXM’s 24/7 college sports channel. The announcement was made on Tuesday.
Pearl will make his debut on an early season college basketball special live from the SiriusXM studios in New York on Monday, November 14 (6:00-8:00 pm ET), the night before the State Farm Champions Classic, the double-header at Madison Square Garden featuring Duke, Michigan State, Kansas and Kentucky.
Pearl will host his own show on SiriusXM. "College Basketball Today" twice a week from noon to 3 pm on channel 91.
"In the 30-plus years I've been involved in college basketball, I've had the privilege of coaching in many of the game's greatest venues in front of the most passionate fans in sports," Pearl said in a statement. "On SiriusXM College Sports Nation, you can hear and feel that passion every day. I'm excited to get on the air and be a part of it, sharing my thoughts and experiences, breaking down the games, and talking with fans all around this country who love the game like I do."
Pearl's impressive run a Tennessee had an ugly ending as the coach was given a three-year show-cause penalty by the NCAA for misleading the college governing body about violations committed while coaching the Volunteers.
