Coaching carousel in full swing

There were many jobs open, but most of them closed up fast. But there are still plenty of jobs available for coaches looking for work. Assistant coaches were upgraded -King Rice took over at Monmouth a couple of weeks ago- while others like Lon Kruger (UNLV to Oklahoma), Ed Cooley (Fairfield to Providence), Pat Knight (Texas Tech to Lamar) and Rod Barnes (Georgia State to Cal State Bakersfield) just switched addresses.

The question is will there be another opening. Harvard's Tommy Amaker turned down the Miami job, while Shaka Smart spurned N.C. State to stay at VCU. The most obvious question is will Jim Calhoun leave UConn. What he decides will certainly have a big effect on the college coaching ranks, especially if his successor is a head coach from another school.

Rest assured there will surely be another wave of hirings over the next couple of weeks. The following is a list of jobs that came opened. The successors are bolded in parentheses.
