Frank Basile’s 20 points help St. Joseph’s upend Farmingdale State

Frank Basile scored 20 points to power St. Joseph’s (9-7) to an upset 71-62 win over first-place Farmingdale State (14-2) in a Skyline Conference men’s basketball game Saturday.

Molloy 73, Daemen 71: Charlie Marquardt hit a three-point shot with four seconds left to lift Molloy (11-5) in an East Coast Conference matchup. He had 19 points.

Queens 84, LIU Post 72: Jared Hall had 20 points, six rebounds and four assists for LIU Post (8-8) in an ECC loss.

NYIT 102, Roberts Wesleyan 88: Jon Feiler had 28 points, 17 rebounds and six assists, while Jeffrey Hayden added 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead NYIT (5-12) in ECC.

USMMA 67, Purchase 66: Matt Miller’s 22 points weren’t enough as USMMA (4-12) fell in the Skyline Conference.

Women’s games

Stony Brook 74, Binghamton 59: Christa Scognamiglio and Kori Bayne-Walker had 24 points each to lead Stony Brook (4-10) in the America East.

Daemen 70, Molloy 50: Kamala Thompson had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Molloy (10-6) in an ECC loss.

Queens 76, LIU Post 56: Mikaiya Moore had 14 points and eight rebounds for LIU Post (7-9) in an ECC loss.

Roberts Wesleyan 88, NYIT 85: Margaret Knollmeyer had 23 points and 10 rebounds for NYIT (9-8) in an ECC loss.

Farmingdale State 74, Mount Saint Vincent 61: Essence Casey had 23 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead Farmingdale State (12-6) in the Skyline Conference.

USMMA 75, St. Joseph’s 25: Kaleigh D’Arcy and Rachel Wehlburg both scored 14 points for USMMA (8-10) in the Skyline Conference.

Men’s Lacrosse

Travis Cooksey had a goal and two assists, and Kevin Pastier scored twice to lift Molloy (2-0) to an 8-6 win over Walsh in non-league play.

Merrimack 12, LIU Post 5: Dylan Harned scored three goals but it wasn’t nearly enough as LIU Post (2-2) fell to Merrimack in non-league. Connor Farrell scooped up 11 ground balls and was 11 of 21 at the faceoff X. Matthew Liantonio made 11 saves.

Women’s Lacrosse

Adelphi 21, Grand Valley State 2: Jacqueline Jahelka had five goals and two assists, Casey Zalewski had four goals and two assists and Michele Scannell added three goals to lead Adelphi in its opener.

Hofstra 15, Bucknell 5: Alyssa Parrela had five goals and two assists, Lexi Lenaghan had four goals and an assist and Drew Shapiro added three goals and an assist as Hofstra opened its season with a win.
