Sam Brigham had 15 points and was one of five Hofstra players to score in double figures in a 66-50 win over William and Mary in a CAA first-round game on Thursday.
The sixth-seeded Pride (19-12) advance to the quarterfinal and face No.3 VCU Friday night at 7:30. William and Mary drops to 12-19.
Freshman Shante Evans had her 14th double double of the season (10 points, 11 rebounds), Jess Fuller had 12 points and three blocks, Nicole Capurso chipped in 13 points and Marie Malone added 11 points.
Fuller, a 6-5 senior, has 201 career blocks and is only the sixth player in CAA history to eclipse 200.
The win put the Pride one step closer to possibley grabbing a NIT bid if they fall short of winning the CAA championship.
