Division I college basketball coaches can make more money as their teams advance in the NCAA Tournament.

Here is a breakdown of their salaries and tournament-related incentives.

Using public records requests, Newsday obtained the pay information for 229 of the 351 Division I coaches. The remaining 122 coaches work for schools exempt from public records laws, including private institutions and schools in Pennsylvania and Delaware where public records laws are more restrictive. None of those 122 schools agreed to Newsday's request for coaches' pay.

Sunday's Newsday will feature a more in-depth special report on this issue.
