Duke haters beware, your worst nightmare may come to life.
Blue Devils freshman sensation Kyrie Irving (toe) practiced with the team on Tuesday. And Coach K said Tuesday "there is a chance" he could play in Duke's fist-round game against Hampton on Friday.
If he does play, he won't start and he'll only get "limited minutes" coach K said.
There's no doubt Irving's return will impact Duke greatly. The question is does this cement Duke as a favorite to win the national title. If he's close to 100 percent, yes.
Duke was 8-0 with Irving and was seemingly unstoppable. Among those eight wins were triumphs over Marquette, Michigan State, Kansas State and Butler. Each of those teams are in the 68-team NCAA field.
The Blue Devils (30-4) didn't miss a beat without Irving as they finished up 22-4.
Irving (17.4 ppg, 5.1 ast) led Duke in scoring and assists before the injury.
