Charles Jenkins' playing days at Hofstra have ended, but the honors will continue to pour in.

The senior guard was named third-team All-American by the Sporting News. The Sporting News is the third major media outlet to honor the Queens native. SportsIllustrated.com and CBS Sports.com named Jenkins to their All-America teams earlier this month.

Jenkins is sixth in the country in scoring (22.6) and become the 63rd player in NCAA Division I history to score over 2,500 career points (2,513). He was the only player in the top 15 in scoring this year to shoot better than 50 percent from the floor (51.7), and he also added a career-best 4.8 assists, the most of any player in the top 10 in scoring.
