Charles Jenkins continues to reap the rewards of a stellar career.
The senior guard on Tuesday became just the third player to win the Haggerty Award three times. The Haggerty award is given to the top college Division I basketball player in the metropolitan area.
Chris Mullin of St. John's (1983-85) and Columbia's Jim McMillian (1968-70) are the others in the award's 78-year history to win it three times.
The 6-3 senior from Queens, who is Hofstra's all-time leading scorer with 2,513 points, is the fifth player from Hofstra to win the award. He finished sixth in the country in scoring (22.6) and was named the CAA Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Jenkins' No.22 was retired prior to his final home game.
