Kentucky coach John Calipari said he was taken aback when he picked up his cell phone today and found dozens of text messages awaiting him. It was the reaction to some comments by former Indiana coach Bob Knight, who used Calipari as an example of the lack of integrity in college basketball because his previous stints at Memphis and Massachusetts resulted in NCAA rules violations.
"I get up to go to mass this morning and there's like 100 text messages and I'm like what in the world happened?" Calipari said in an Associated Press report. "And I get word and what I can tell you is I'm a big fan, respect him as a basketball coach, always have.
"I don't agree with what he says but it doesn't change how I feel about him."
