LIU coach Jim Ferry has a lot more to put on his resume now.

Ferry was named the Peter A. Carlesimo coach of the year by the NIT and Met Basketball Writers Association Tuesday. Ferry's players were also recognized as freshman Jason Brickman was named rookie of the year, while sophomores Julian Boyd and Jamal Olasewere were selected to the All-Met first and third teams, respectively.

Ferry was also named the Jim Phelan NEC coach of tye year and the NABC District 18 coach of the year. Ferry led LIU (27-6) to the NEC regular season and tournament championship and to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1997.

LIU led the nation in road wins with 13 and finished 16-2 in the NEC.
