Metro Area Top 10: Iona No.1

It’s only week two and we already have a change in the top spot. Iona, after a tough one-point loss to Purdue in its opener, raised eye brows with wins over Western Michigan and Maryland and is the New No.1 squad in the Newsday Metro Area Poll. The win over the Terrapins was especially a stunner as the Gaels blasted the ACC squad, 89-63.

St. John’s dropped one spot to No.2, while Seton Hall surged into the poll at No.3. Sacred Heart dropped three places to ninth, LIU stayed at 10 and Wagner moved up one place to sixth. The Hofstra Pride stayed at No.5, while Stony Brook dropped out of the poll after a loss to Sacred Heart.
