Welcome back to the Newsday Metro Area Top 10 poll. St. John's, off to a 3-0 start, tops the poll this week. The Red Storm struggled in its first two wins against William & Mary and Lehigh, but came back in a big way against UMBC. Iona hasn't played yet, but has been the talk of the town. Stony Brook came up short against Indiana, but still has talent and depth.

LIU came in 10th after dropping its first two games of the season. The Blackbirds, in the midst of a long road stretch, will eventually pick it up. Rutgers, Hofstra and Sacred Heart, all 1-0, are Nos. four through six. Wagner and Fairfield checked in at seventh and eighth, while Fordham is ninth.
