Maryland has made a little run, trailing 78-69 with 4:43 left in the game. The Terrapins have rallied with a 19-13 run. The key has been the lack of defense for Maryland. The Spartans are shooting 57 percent from the field. Durrell Summers has 26 points and Raymar Morgan has 17. Both players have picked up in Kalin Lucas' absence.

Michigan State is holding on to a 65-50 lead with 12:29 left without Kalin Lucas in the lineup. Durrell Summers (26 points) is on a tear with 14 second-half points. The Spartans are shooting 8-for-13 from three-point range and have a big rebounding edge,  26-13.

Michigan State may have to go at it without Kalin Lucas, who left the game with an apparent leg injury. The Spartans lead 51-45 with 18:09 left.

Michigan State is getting production from everyone it needs to get it from. Raymar Morgan (13 points) and Durrell Summers (12 points) have been big early. Kalin Lucas has only taken four shots and has six points. The Spartans bench has been especially good with 13 points. Michigan State leads 48-39 at the half.

Maryland is having a problem on the defensive boards as Michigan State continues to make them pay. Michigan State has a 21-9 edge at the half.  Eric Hayes has 10 points at the half for the Terrapins.

Defense seems to be a foreign concept in this one. Raymar Morgan has 13 points and Durrell Simmons has 12 for the Spartans. Kalin Lucas has barely been a factor with four points. Maryland needs to find an answer on defense fast. The Spartans are shooting 57 percent from the field. The Spartans lead the Terps 44-37 with 2:04 left in the first half.

Michigan State has found its offense early and leads 24-17 with 12:00 left in the first half. Raymar Morgan has been the early star with nine points. The Spartans' Kalin Lucas hasn't even scored yet. The Spartans already have seven assists in the game and are 10-for-16 from the field.
