Claxton's second straight 40-point game
Senior Craig Claxton recorded his second consecutive 40-point game and junior Norman Richardson added 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Hofstra Flying Dutchmen to an 80-72 win at Maine. Claxton hit 13 of 25 field-goal attempts, including 4 of 6 from three-point territory, and 10 of 12 at the foul line to match his career high set one game prior against Hartford. Claxton scored five points during a 10-3 run to put Hofstra ahead 63-62 with 4:14 remaining. After Maine's Julian Dunkley hit two free throws to put the Black Bears ahead 64-63, Claxton and Richardson hit back-to-back three-pointers to start an 11-0 run that propelled Hofstra to the win and hand Maine its first home loss of the season.
