If was a rough night in Staten Island for Hofstra. Playing without point guard Stevie Mejia (hamstring) and forwards Bryant Crowder (suspension) and Stephen Nwaukoni (illness) it was painful on offense as Wagner took out Hofstra, 58-43.

No one made any excuses. “We have a short bench right now,” said Hofstra coach Cassara. “But that’s what we’ve got and we have to find a way to get better.”

Nathaniel Lester had 12 points and said "It's something we definitely have to get used to."

The Pride (3-6), which has lost three straight, will have a few days to lick their wounds before hosting Manhattan on Saturday. After that, the Pride has a week off until Binghamton comes to town.

Mejia is expected to be out for a while, Cassara told reporters. But Nwaukoni is expected back on Saturday. There's no word on Crowder.
