Tesia Harris transfers to St. John's

Tesia Harris, older sister of former Half Hollow Hills West All-American Tobias, has transferred to St. John's, the school announced Monday.

Harris, who played her first three years at the University of Delaware, will sit out the 2010-2011 season per NCAA transfer rules and be eligible for the 2011-2012 season.

The Red Storm also announced the addition of Boston College transfer Mary Nwachukwu, who also won't be eligible until the 2011-2012 season begins.

“Tesia and Mary are great additions to the St. John’s women’s basketball program,” St. John’s coach Kim Barnes Arico said in a statement. “Both will help us as we work toward sustaining ourselves as a top-20 program for years to come. They are exceptional students as well as basketball players. Tesia and Mary will play a key role this year in helping prepare our active players for another run deep into the postseason. We are excited for them to take the court for the Red Storm in the 2011-12 season.”
