The quest for the Big East women’s championship has already begun. Syracuse and South Florida have already advanced to the second around after posting wins over Providence and Pittsburgh, respectively.

The top four seeds get a double bye into the quarterfinals and won’t play until Sunday. The St. John’s women are set to play at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Red Storm, winners of 16 of its last 19 games, has been blazing hot lately. Kim Barnes Arico was named conference coach of the year, while Shenneika Smith was a first-team All-Big East selection. Teammates Da’Shena Stevens and Nadirah McKenith were named to the second team.
