The Hofstra women’s team lives to fight another day.
The Pride (19-11) will host Harvard in a first-round NIT game on Thursday at the Mack Sports Complex. It’s the fourth post season big in school history. The winner will face either Temple or Quinnipiac in a second-round game.
A win for the Pride will give it the fourth 20-win season since becoming a Division I program in 1982-83. Hofstra earned trips to the NIT in 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2009-10.
Hofstra advanced to the NIT quarterfinal in 2010.
Shante Evans leads Hofstra in scoring (19.0) and rebounds (10.4). Christine Clark averages 15.2 points per game for Harvard (17-11).
