Hot seat report

Georgia coach Mark Richt will not get fired this week, at least.

Aaron Murray ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more scores as the host Bulldogs (2-4, 1-3 SEC) snapped a four-game losing streak, routing bumbling Tennessee, 41-14, yesterday.

The media and disgruntled Georgia fans have been keeping a vigil on Richt for the past few weeks. Richt, in his 10th season coaching the Dawgs, won SEC titles in 2002 and '05 but slipped to 8-5, 4-4 last season and might end up missing out on a bowl game for the first time since the 1996 season under coach Jim Donnan.

Vols coach Derek Dooley, son of former longtime Georgia coach and athletic director Vince Dooley, is 2-4, 0-3 in his first year.

Orange at 4-1

Second-year Syracuse coach Doug Marrone shed tears in the postgame briefing after Delone Carter rushed for 105 yards, helping the Orange (4-1) match its win total for all of last season with a 13-9 victory at South Florida.
