Late TD gives LIU Post a 28-25 win over Stonehill

Make that four game-winning drives for Steven Laurino this season.

The senior quarterback connected with Shane Hubbard on a 2-yard touchdown pass with 22 seconds left Saturday to cap a 9-play, 65-yard drive and give LIU Post a 28-25 win over Stonehill in a Northeast-10 conference game. Laurino completed 24 of 41 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown.

With Stonehill on its own 41-yard line with 16 seconds remaining, David Sumter forced a fumble that was recovered by Dan Belfiore to seal the win.

Laurino's 2-yard touchdown run with 11:16 left gave the Pioneers, who trailed 10-0 in the first quarter, a 21-13 lead. Tom Sydeski hit Nate Robitaille for a 17-yard touchdown pass with 8:16 left, and Deontae Ramey-Doe ran for a 6-yard score with 2:50 to go to put Stonehill (2-4, 2-3) up 25-21.

Sean Binckes had 11 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown and Hubbard had four receptions for 42 yards and two TDs.

Anthony Brunetti had 12 tackles and Brandon Cheney added 10 tackles for LIU Post (4-2, 4-1).

Rochester 20, USMMA 17: Dan Bronson hit Matt Ervin on a 75-yard touchdown pass with 3:08 left for the go-ahead score for Rochester (3-2, 1-2). USMMA running back Mario Colangelo, who had 111 yards on 22 carries, fumbled less than one minute later.

USMMA (2-4, 0-3) took a 14-10 lead in the fourth quarter on Matt McDaniels' 27-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Rice. McDaniels rushed 13 times for 40 yards. Colin Hinchey had 50 yards on 12 carries.

USMMA's first touchdown was scored when Patrick Keyes returned an interception 30 yards, tying the score at 7 with 10:57 left in the third quarter.
