Quarterback Steve Laurino threw four touchdowns and rushed for three more to lead LIU Post to a 49-21 win over Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 game Saturday.
Laurino was 31-for-51 passing for 346 yards and also had 16 carries for 77 yards.
Post led 14-0 with 3:40 left in the first quarter after a 1-yard touchdown run by Laurino and took a 28-7 lead into halftime after Laurino completed a 37-yard touchdown to Sean Binckes with two minutes left in the second quarter.
Binckes caught nine passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns, including a 4-yard TD pass that gave the Pioneers a 21-7 lead with 7:49 left in the first half.
Shane Hubbard caught six passes for 76 yards. Roger Hamilton had 11 tackles and a forced fumbled for Post (5-2, 5-1).
Yianni Gavales connected with Ahkeen Williams for a 23-yard touchdown pass to make it a two-possession game and pull Saint Anselm (5-2, 5-1) within 28-14 with 12:27 to go in the third.
But Laurino capped a 7-play, 63 yard drive with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams. Laurino then increased the lead to 42-14 on a 3-yard TD run with 2:42 left in the third.
Kamron Palmer caught 7 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Springfield 48, USMMA 21: Matthew McDaniels' 11-yard run with 6:42 left in the first quarter capped an 11-play, 65-yard drive for the Merchant Marines and tied the game at 7. From there, it was all Springfield.
McDaniels was a bright spot in the loss. He carried the ball 25 times for 165 yards and all three of USMMA's scores.
Mario Colangelo had 57 yards on 15 rushes, and Colin Hinchey had 41 yards on 14 attempts.
Jonathan Marrero threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns and completed five of his nine passes. He also ran 17 times for 209 yards and three scores.
Nassau CC 38, Dean 0: Ben Holmes was 16-for-26 with 218 passing yards and three touchdowns for Nassau (7-0, 3-0) in the Northeast Football Conference. He connected twice for scores with Sean Mitchell, who posted 36 yards on three catches.
Julian Farinola's interception and Ali Ali-Musa's six tackles highlighted a defensive effort that limited Dean to 111 total yards.
