Fearless Prediction: Fiesta Bowl

Monday
Fiesta Bowl
No. 6 Boise State vs. No. 4 TCU (-8):
The obvious matchup will be TCU's defense, ranked No. 1 nationally, going against Boise State's high-powered offense, ranked seventh in the nation. It's going to be interesting to see how Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore, who has thrown for 3,325 yards and 39 touchdowns, tries to break down a TCU pass defense that yields only 153 yards a game, which puts the Horned Frogs second nationally. One key will be pressuring Moore and getting him out of rhythm. TCU has racked up 32 sacks, including 11.5 from All-American defensive end Jerry Hughes. So the ability to make Moore uncomfortable is definitely there. Plus, the Horned Frogs have faced some good offenses this season (Clemson, BYU, Utah and Air Force to name a few). So TCU is well tested for what Moore and the Broncos will try to do. TCU's offense is actually better than Boise State's. The Horned Frogs are ranked fifth nationally with 469 yards a game. But it's the balance that is so impressive. TCU passes for 218 yards a game and runs for 256.5 yards a game, good for fifth nationally. I think TCU's defense, ability to run the ball and quarterback Andy Dalton's ability to hit the long pass will be too much for the Broncos. TCU 34, Boise State 24
