Hofstra women lose in overtime

Annie Payton had 20 points and Anma Onyeuku 17 points and nine rebounds, but Hofstra couldn't hold off visiting Virginia Tech yesterday in a 77-72 overtime loss at Mack Sports Complex.

Hofstra (2-3) led 67-65 late in the second half, but Virginia Tech's Monet Tellier (20 points) hit a jumper as time expired to force overtime.

Molloy 67, Philadelphia 60: Sabrina Padro, Kimani Jackson and Alexia O'Connor each had 11 points to lead Molloy (3-2) in non-conference.



St. Joseph's 87, Wheelock 76: Darryl Charles had 28 points and 16 rebounds for St. Joseph's (1-3) in non-conference.

Nassau CC 88, Manhattan CC 67: Jamail Stanley had 17 points and 14 rebounds for Nassau CC (5-0) in Region XV.

Suffolk CC 74, Dutchess CC 41: Chris Millender had 17 points and nine rebounds for Suffolk (3-0) in Region XV.
