Hofstra moved back into the win column Tuesday afternoon and in the process, Alyssa Parrella surpassed the 100-point mark for her career.

The sophomore from Miller Place had two goals and four assists to lead the Pride to a 13-4 road win over Quinnipiac in a non-conference women’s lacrosse game. Hofstra, which had lost in overtime to Fairfield and to No. 2 Maryland in its previous two outings, responded in dominant fashion and outshot Quinnipiac 35-19.

Parrella tallied 76 points and was 13th nationally in points per game last season and has 28 points this year. She opened the scoring Tuesday and got her 100th point when she assisted Jenna Budd’s goal late in the first half that gave the Pride a 7-3 lead. That goal was part of a 6-0 Hofstra run that made the score 9-3 with 25:14 left.

Budd and Drew Shapiro both scored three goals and Katie Whelan added two goals and an assist for Hofstra (3-2). Arianna Esposito (two goals) and Alexa Mattera rounded out the scoring for the Pride.

Parrella also had eight of Hofstra’s 15 draw controls and Whelan added four; Quinnipiac (3-3) won just four as a team. The hosts were unable to do much when they did have possession, thanks in part to Hofstra goalie Maddie Fields, who stopped 13 of the 17 shots she faced.
