The Hofstra men's basketball team was picked to finish third in the Colonial Athletic Association preseason poll, and two Pride players earned preseason accolades.

CAA coaches, media relations directors and media members voted in the poll, which has the Pride behind Northeastern and William & Mary.

Junior guard Juan'ya Green, who joins the team after transferring from Niagara, was named to the conference's preseason All-CAA first team. Dion Nesmith, who averaged 13.3 points and 4.2 assists per game last season for Hofstra, was named to the second team.

Hofstra opens its season on Nov. 14 at home against Jacksonville.
