WILMINGTON, N.C. — Devontae Cacok scored 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as UNC Wilmington reversed a 20-point loss to Hofstra just 10 days ago with a 90-70 victory over the Pride on Saturday night.

Cacok, the nation’s top rebounder, split his 16 boards on both ends of the court and made 11 of 13 shots in posting his 18th double-double this season. Ty Taylor II added 16 points, Jordon Talley 13, Jay Estime’ 12 and Marcus Bryan 10 for the Seahawks (8-17, 5-8 Colonial Athletic Association), who lost at Hofstra, 96-76, on Feb. 1.

“This is the time of year when you have to have a short memory,” Hofstra coach Joe Mihalich said. “It’s February, we got four games to go. I just promised the guys. We’re gonna burn the tape. We’re gonna move on.”

Justin Wright-Foreman scored 15 points, Rokas Gustys, another nationally ranked rebounder, had 13 points and 10 boards and Desure Buie added 11 points for Hofstra (15-11, 8-6).

UNCW led by five at halftime, went up by double figures for good with 10 minutes left in the game and finished the final three minutes on a 14-4 run.

“You’ve got to defend and rebound against this team,” Mihalich said of the Seahawks. “And we didn’t defend and rebound.”
