Justin Wright-Foreman is picking up right where he left off for the Hofstra men's basketball team.

The senior shooting guard was named preseason Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year and preseason All-CAA first team at the conference's media day on Wednesday. In addition, Eli Pemberton was named to the All-CAA second team.

The All-CAA teams and predicted order of finish were voted on by the league's head coaches, sports information directors and members of the media. Hofstra was picked third in the CAA.

Wright-Foreman was named CAA Player of the Year last season after finishing fifth in the nation with 24.4 points per game. He was the fourth Pride player ever to earn conference Player of the Year honors, joining Loren Stokes (2007), Charles Jenkins (2010, 2011) and Juan'ya Green (2016). He also was ECAC Player of the Year and Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American as well as first team for All-CAA, NABC All-District and All-Met.

The preseason honors come a day after Wright-Foreman was one of 20 players named to the preseason Jerry West Award watch list. The award is given each year to the best shooting guard in college basketball.

Wright-Foreman ranks 13th in school history with 1,379 career points and seventh with 167 three-pointers. He also was involved in each of the Pride's three game-winning shots last season.

Pemberton was second on the team last season in scoring with 15.9 points per game and averaged 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. The junior guard also was second on the team in rebounding and third in assists. He finished 12th in the CAA in scoring, 18th in rebounding, ninth in three-point percentage and 14th in three-pointers made.
