The distinct fingerprints of Long Island's richly deserved reputation as a lacrosse hotbed are all over the men's All-Americans teams, announced Thursday by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
Two former Chaminade High School stars who helped lead Maryland into this weekend's lacrosse Final Four in Baltimore were among four Long Islanders named first-team All-Americans. Attack Mike Chanenchuk, the Terrapins' leading scorer, and LSM Mike Ehrhardt, the defensive anchor, were joined on the first team by midfielder Tom Schreiber of Princeton (St. Anthony's), a Tewaaraton Award finalist, and faceoff specialist Kevin Massa of Bryant (Glenn), No. 1 in the nation in winning percentage.
Five Long Island players were named to the second team, including former Connetquot teammates attack Kieran McArdle of St. John's and LSM Mike Pellegrino of Johns Hopkins. Joining them were attack Matt Kavanaugh of Notre Dame (Chaminade), middie Myles Jones of Duke (Whitman) and faceoff specialist Charlie Raffa of Maryland (St. Anthony's).
Three more Long Islanders were selected to the third team - midfielder Zack Losco of Penn (Hauppauge), faceoff specialist Brendan Fowler of Duke (Chaminade) and defenseman Maxx Meyer of Penn (Half Hollow Hills East).
Eight more local players earned honorable mention status, led by Hofstra attack Sam Llinares (Hauppauge). Here are the others:

DEFENSE - Rob Duvnjak, Harvard (Manhasset); Tom Freshour, Cornell (Smithtown East); Jordan Stevens, Cornell (Smithtown West).
