LSU No. 1 in AP and Coaches polls

LSU and Alabama stayed in the top two places in the latest AP Poll this week, while the previous No. 3 Oklahoma took a series tumble to 11th. Wisconsin followed suit, dropping from fourth to 12th. Oklahoma State moved up three places to third, while Stanford jumped from seventh to fourth after an impressive showing against Washington. Boise State remained at No. 5 with one first-place vote.

West Virginia dropped from 11th to 25th, Texas Tech entered the poll at 19, USC at 20, Penn State came in at 21, while Cincinnati came in at 24. Auburn, Georgia Tech, Washington and Illinois dropped out of the ranking.

LSU and Alabama were Nos. 1 and 2 in the coaches poll, too, followed by Stanford, Oklahoma State and Boise State. Clemson and Oregon moved up to sixth and seventh, while Arkansas jumped two places to 10th. Oklahoma dropped from No. 1 to ninth. Georgia Tech, Illinois, Auburn and Washington dropped out, while Georgia, Texas Tech, Cincinnati and Southern Miss came in at 21, 22, 23 and 25th. West Virginia fell from 14th to 24th.
