Manhattan ended 2013 as the top team in the Metro Hoops Poll and begins 2014 in the same position. The Jaspers have won eight straight games, including an 83-57 thrashing of Fairfield on Jan. 4. Princeton, which has won 10 of its last 11 games, vaults two places to second.

Stony Brook stayed at third, while Seton Hall jumped to fifth. St. John’s, after dropping two straight Big East games, falls three places to fifth. Columbia moved up three places to sixth after three straight wins, while Quinnipiac stayed at seven. Fordham stayed at eight, Rutgers enters the poll after winning three of its last four, while St. Francis NY replaces Rider at 10th.
