Nann's early goal sparks C.W. Post to field hockey win

C.W. Post senior Amanda Nann had a goal and an assist as the No. 6 Pioneers posted a 3-0 win over visiting Limestone in non-conference field hockey Thursday.

Carlee Dragon and Amanda Miller also scored for Post (8-4), while Cortney Colern had a save in the win.

Nann scored the first goal of the game on a redirect in front of the net 21:30 into the first half after Limestone goalie Lindsay Hinton kicked out a shot from Post forward Amy Lillis.

Limestone drops to 3-9.

WOMEN'S SOCCERDowling 3, Wilmington University 0:Kristy Vitale tipped in a deflection off the goalkeeper in the 19th minute to give Dowling (7-4-1) a 1-0 lead in non-conference.

Karen Endresen and Megan Emanuelo each added second-half goals and Alicia Commisso had one save in Dowling's win.

Wilmington drops to 9-3.

St. Joseph's (LI) 1, Farmingdale State 0:Michelle Gulino made six saves as St. Joseph's (10-6-1, 7-1) prevailed on an own goal in Skyline play. Amanda Maass made three saves for Farmingdale State (10-4, 5-1).

New Hampshire 2, Stony Brook University 1:Monique Lamotte scored in the 38th minute of the first half to give New Hampshire (7-6-3, 3-2) a 2-1 lead in an America East Conference game. Taryn Schoenbeck scored in the 12th minute to give Stony Brook (4-9-2, 3-2-1) a 1-0 lead. Chelsea Kuss also scored for New Hampshire. Holy Family 2, Molloy 1:Kristi Whittaker and Lindsay Fisher each scored second-half goals to lead Holy Family (8-4-1) in non-conference. Kylie Barbosa gave Molloy (4-7-1) a 1-0 lead with her fifth goal of the season in the 37th minute.
