No. 1 Oregon's high-scoring offense managed little output Saturday night in a 15-13 win at unranked California.
Oregon managed just 317 yards of total offense, a season low. But credit the Ducks' defense for stepping up.
Cal kicker Giorgio Tavecchio missed a 29-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that would have put the Bears in the lead. Tavecchio stutter-stepped but made a field goal that would've put Cal up 16-15. A penalty, however, pushed Tavecchio back five yards and he missed that attempt.
Oregon head coach Chip Kelly didn't appear to be too happy after the game as a Versus on-field reporter asked him about why his team struggled. Kelly's response was that his team won the game by two points and that's all that matters.
We'll see tomorrow when the rankings and BCS standings are released.
