Rodriguez's three-pointer lifts NYIT over Post

Eric Rodriguez hit a three-pointer with two seconds left to win it for NYIT, 58-57, over C.W. Post yesterday in men's basketball.

Rodriguez had 17 points for NYIT (5-4, 2-1 ECC). Aaron Paul had 15 points for C.W. Post (2-3, 1-2).

Adelphi 79, Caldwell 48:Richard Byrd had 15 points and six rebounds and Casey Cosgrove added 13 points, seven assists and four steals for Adelphi (8-1). Steffon Farley added 13 points and four blocks and Chris Diasparra scored 13 points. Adelphi led 45-28 at halftime. Peter Diffley had seven points for Caldwell (0-6).

USMMA 70, Wesleyan 56: Ryan Samuel had 18 points and three assists to lead USMMA (4-2). Matt Hueber added 12 points and 13 rebounds for his fifth double-double. Greg St. Jean had 12 points and five rebounds Wesleyan (4-4).

Suffolk-CC Brentwood 88, Briarwood (Conn.)66: Ryan Malloy led five scorers in double figures with 20 points for Suffolk-CC Brentwood (4-6).

St. Thomas Aquinas 46, Dowling 44: Jamie Blanchard (14 points) hit a layup with 1:09 left to give STAC a 45-42 lead. David Seagers' free throws with 49 seconds left pulled Dowling within a point, but Ra'Shad James' free throw with eight seconds left created the final margin. Justin Brown had 12 points and seven rebounds for STAC (2-6, 1-2 ECC). Mike Hill's seven points led Dowling (3-7, 1-3).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALLHofstra 73, Manhattan 65:Shante Evans had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hofstra (6-3). Sam Brigham added 15 points. Michelle Pacheco had 25 points and five steals for Manhattan College (4-5).

Adelphi 82, Caldwell 77: Ashley Caiafa had 20 points and five assists to lead Adelphi (2-7). Theresa Foley added 18 points and 15 rebounds and Erika Cottle had 17 points and four steals. Gillian Felix had 19 points and 14 rebounds for Caldwell (3-4).

USMMA 62, Apprentice (Va.) 47: Roshenda Joseph had 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead USMMA (3-4). Emily Meehan added 11 points and six rebounds. Jasmine Gerald had 17 points and two assists for Apprentice (4-6).
