Stony Brook an NFL factory? That might be a stretch right now, but the Seawolves surely were buzzing after center Paul Fenaroli signed a three-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday.
The 6-3, 305-pound Fenaroli, a two-time first-team All-Big South pick, started 38 straight games for Stony Brook. The Falcons started training camp Wednesday.
"I'm thrilled for Paul," Stony Brook coach Chuck Priore said on the school’s website. "Paul was one of the toughest kids I've ever coached. I see Atlanta's blocking schemes as a great fit for Paul."
Fenaroli, a native of Monroe, CT, went undrafted and joined the Falcons as a free agent. Fenaroli benched 225 pounds 34 times and ran the 40-yard dash in 5.15 seconds at an NFL pro day at Fordham.
