Stony Brook men bounce Albany in soccer

Leonardo Fernandes scored off his own rebound in the 61st minute and Raphael Abreu added a goal 22 minutes later as Stony Brook topped host Albany, 2-0, in America East men's soccer yesterday. Stefan Manz had four stops in goal and picked up his fourth shutout of the year for the Seawolves (7-5-1, 1-1). Albany drops to 4-7-0, 0-2.

Dowling 2, C.W. Post 1:Stefan Draskovic scored the winner on a free kick in the 84th minute for Dowling (6-1-3, 4-0-1 ECC). Jonathan DeFelice had scored in the fifth minute to get Dowling on the board. William Lindberg scored for C.W. Post (4-5-1, 2-1). Old Westbury 4, CCNY 1:Victoria Stewart had one goal and two assists for SUNY-Old Westbury (7-5) in non-league. CCNY drops to 0-13.Centenary College 0, Farmingdale State 0:Ricky Meschkow had 10 saves in the shutout for Farmingdale (6-8-1) in non-conference.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALLNassau CC 3, Monroe 0: Deanna Miller had 10 kills, four digs and three blocks, Alexis Valvis has six kills and nine digs and Colleen Bechhoff had 10 kills, five digs and one block to lead Nassau (10-0) to the 25-22, 34-32, 25-26 win in Region 15.Farmingdale State splits.Lindsey Fisher had 26 assists and Renee Milevoj added 12 kills and 17 digs as Farmingdale State (7-3, 4-1) took the second match of a split Skyline doubleheader, 20-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-23, over Mount St. Vincent.

In the first game, Lindsey Fisher had 35 assists and 15 digs and Holly Sahner had 16 kills and 10 digs, but the Rams fell, 25-19, 26-24, 16-25, 17-25, 8-15, to Mount St. Mary.
