Stony Brook University's LaValle Stadium will host the 2013 and 2014 America East men's lacrosse championship, the conference announced Thursday. The athletic directors from member institutions voted for the venue. The winning team receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Semifinals for the 2013 tournament will be held May 2. The title game, on May 4, will be telecast on ESPNU.

“Predetermining the site for our men’s lacrosse championship enhances our ability to put on a first-class tournament and Stony Brook’s LaValle Stadium is the ideal place to hold it,”  America East Commissioner Amy Huchthausen said in a statement.  “As the popularity of lacrosse continues to explode, the time is right to further expose our high level programs and grow America East’s lacrosse brand by creating a destination and atmosphere that will excite fans everywhere."
