The single-season record book for the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team got a rewrite during Saturday's 21-13 win over Vermont at LaValle Stadium.

Claire Petersen, who had seven goals and three assists to tie her own single-game school record of 10 points, now has 31 goals and 43 assists for 74 points this season. The junior attack surpasses the previous records of 71 points, held by Kaitlin Leggio, and 42 assists, held by Carlee Buck.

Demmianne Cook scored six goals to bring her season total to 51, surpassing Amy Taylor's previous record of 47.

"[Petersen and Cook] are so talented that they will continue to add to those records and probably wind up breaking them again next year," Stony Brook coach Joe Spallina said.

Janine Hillier had four goals and five assists and Michelle Rubino added two goals and an assist for Stony Brook (10-3, 3-0), which is a half- game behind Boston University for first place in the America East Conference.
