Stony Brook officials confirmed that the Seawolves' Big South Conference football game against Virginia Military Institute will take place as originally scheduled 6 p.m. Saturday at LaValle Stadium. Yes, under the lights on blacked-out Long Island.

There was some consideration of changing the starting time because of VMI's travel arrangements, but the Keydets (2-6, 1-3 Big South) plan to fly into Long Island the morning of the game and depart immediately after the game. Stony Brook (8-1, 4-0) can clinch at least a tie for the conference title with a victory on Senior Day.

As part of its campaign to promote senior running back Miguel Maysonet's candidacy for the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision, the school is offering packages of four tickets for $5 each. This is Maysonet's final regular-season home game.
