Temple named Steve Addazio as the program's new head coach during a press conference on Thursday.
Addazio was associate head coach and offensive coordinator for Florida this season. He was assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for the Gators in 2009 and worked in other roles for Florida since 2005.
He's also made coaching stops at Indiana, Syracuse and Notre Dame.
Addazio replaces Al Golden, who built the Temple program into a winner and is now the head coach at Miami.
Addazio, 51, will soon leave Florida as Urban Meyer prepares to coach his final game with the Gators on Jan. 1 in the Outback Bowl against Penn State.
Former Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp will become Florida's new head coach after the Outback Bowl.
Addazio is also expected to coach in the Outback Bowl before heading to Philadelphia.
"I am humbled to be standing here as the head football coach at Temple University," Addazio said in a statement on Temple's website. "I will give everything I have to make Philadelphia and the University community proud."
