UConn hires Paul Pasqualoni as head coach

Connecticut announced on Thursday that Paul Pasqualoni was taking over its football program.

Pasqualoni replaces Randy Edsall, who left the Huskies after the Fiesta Bowl loss to Oklahoma to become the head coach at Maryland.

Pasqualoni spent 14 seasons as Syracuse's head coach, from 1991-2004. Pasqualoni had 107 wins and nine bowl victories during his tenure at Syracuse.

Since his time at Syracuse, Pasqualoni has been coaching in the NFL as an assistant with stops in Dallas and Miami.
