A's lefthander Dallas Braden has received a lot of attention for his criticism of Alex Rodriguez. This afternoon, Braden let his pitching do the talking and he threw a perfect game with six strikeouts against the Rays in a 4-0 win. It is the 19th perfect game in baseball history. Braden, whose mother died of cancer when he was in high school, had a large contingent in Oakland on Mother's Day, including his grandmother. Braden doesn't get a lot of strikeouts, but he has displayed excellent control and has had a lot of success getting hitters to chase his changeup. Braden is 4-2 with a 3.33 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. He has struck out 28 and walked seven in 46 innings.

I guess someone from the Rays should have stepped on the mound.
