There is a lot of panic among Aaron Hernandez owners after he didn't have a catch on Sunday against the Steelers, while fellow rookie tight end Rob Gronkowski scored three TDs. Does that mean he has surpassed Hernandez? I don't think so.
Hernandez still has more catches on the season with 34. Gronkowski has 19. He receives more targets near the goal-line, but Hernandez is more involved most weeks. The Patriots have always gone primarily with the pass when playing the Steelers and they went with a lot of three-wide sets and Gronkowski is usually the tight end in those formations. Hernandez was on the field for just 11 snaps, but it was just part of the game plan. Hernandez will still get a lot of catches and yards. Don't give up on him.
