Edinson Volquez was very impressive in his six rehab starts on his way back from Tommy John surgery last August exhibiting great control and reaching as high as 97 mph. It continued in his first major league start since the surgery Saturday night.
Volquez pitched six innings and allowed three hits, one run, two walks and struck out nine to get the win over the Rockies. He threw 96 pitches; 60 for strikes. Volquez allowed two of the first three batters to reach on hits and trailed 1-0. Volquez will face the Nationals next and is available in 37 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so go get him.
