Indianapolis - Giants general manager Jerry Reese said recently that he'd give consideration to reaching out to former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress when his prison sentence on illegal gun possession charges runs out in June. But if the Giants were to consider re-signing Burress, who hasn't played since late in the 2008 season, you'd figure head coach Tom Coughlin would have to be on board with the idea.

But Coughlin wasn't giving away his intentions just yet.

"A little bit. Not much," Coughlin said when asked if he had thought about what might happen after Burress gets out of jail. "There may be some further discussion. There really hasn't been any lengthy discussions to this point."

I asked Coughlin if he would describe himself as more open to the idea of a Burress return than he might have been a year ago, Coughlin said: "I don't have any comment about that right now. I really don't."
