Cribbs could play next week

Browns star receiver/returner Josh Cribbs left yesterday's game against the Jets with a foot injury, and it turns out he dislocated four of his five toes on his right foot. Only his big toe escaped injury, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Cribbs suffered the injury in the second quarter. He remained in pads on the sidelines after getting checked out in the locker room, but he didn't return. According to the Plain Dealer, however, Cribbs might play in next week's game against the Jaguars.

"I just couldn't get back out there," Cribbs told the newspaper. "I was about to jump and somebody behind me stepped on my foot right as I was about to jump. They took X-rays and they just told me, 'You're done for the day.'"

Cribbs' absence limited the Browns' ability to run the Wildcat offense in the second half.

"He's a playmaker for us, so just being able to hang in there and fight, to believe in each other, I thought that was huge for us," Browns rookie quarterback Colt McCoy said.
