ESPN reporting Randy Moss to Vikings a done deal

Well there were rumors on the Internet last night, sparked by an accidental Bill Simmons Tweet of all things, that Patriots start wide receiver Randy Moss was on the brink of being traded back to Minnesota.

ESPN is reporting this morning that the deal is done. The deal include Moss returing to Minny and the Patriots receiving a third round draft pick as compensation.

Moss was in the final year of his contract with the Patriots, but had shown some displeasure in recent weeks over not having a new contract and with the Pats organization in general.

Moss will join a Vikings team that has been disappointing, despite convincing Brett Favre to come back for another season. The Vikings had been lacking any sort of deep downfield threat, since wide receiver Sidney Rice has been sidelined with a hip injury.
