Geno signed, but Milliner, Richardson not

The Jets announced the signing of second-round quarterback Geno Smith, but we're still awaiting word on the contract status of first-round defensive stars Dee Milliner and Sheldon Richardson.

All Jets' rookies report to the team today at the Florham Park, N.J. complex, and they'll head to training camp on Thursday along with the  veterans.

Smith's contract was negotiated by Jay-Z's new agency, Roc Nation. There had been some controversy associated with Smith's association with Roc Nation, since the NFL Players Association was concerned that Jay-Z had been used as a "runner" to attract Smith to the company. Under NFLPA rules, agents can no longer use runners or serve as runners themselves to solicit players while they're still in college.
