Geno Smith threw up a clunker in Buffalo on Sunday with four turnovers. It happens.

But, if you recall, part of the reason the Jets drafted Smith early in the second round was because Sanchez led the NFL in turnovers over the course of the previous two seasons (52 from 2011-12).

Have a look at how Smith's turnover rate through 10 games compares with that of Mark Sanchez, the Jets' starting quarterback for each of the past four seasons, over that same time span. You can make any comparisons you wish, perhaps Smith's rookie year to Sanchez's rookie year, or just go year by year. Or, just take a look at the correlation between the "Total" column and the "Record" column.

2013 Geno Smith 16 5 21 5-5
2012 Mark Sanchez 9 4 13 4-6
2011 Mark Sanchez 10 5 15 5-5
2010 Mark Sanchez 7 0 7 8-2
2009 Mark Sanchez 16 3 19 4-6
