The guy who gets Eli Manning the ball and the two guys Manning gives it to the most will not be playing against the Patriots.
The Giants will be without three offensive starters when they face the Patriots today as RB Ahmad Bradshaw, WR Hakeem Nicks and C David Baas were all downgraded to out yesterday and did not travel with the team.
The good news? Jason Pierre-Paul, who missed Friday’s practice with concussion-like symptoms, is with the team and is expected to play although he remains officially listed as questionable.
The decisions were not unexpected, although the team had been holding out hope that their leading rusher and receiver would be able to recover and play. Bradshaw has a stress fracture in his right foot, Nicks has a hamstring injury and Baas hurt his knee. All three suffered their injuries last week in the game against the Dolphins.
Kevin Boothe, who started in place of Baas when he missed a game last month with a neck injury, will likely take his spot on the offensive line. Victor Cruz is expected to line up as a starting receiver in Nicks’ place opposite Mario Manningham and Brandon Jacobs will likely get his first start of the season at running back.
The Giants also activated WR Ramses Barden off the physically unable to perform list and added him to the 53-man roster. He will be available to make his season today.
